  • OBITUARY

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Gennady Brukhbinder. A
kind Jewish soul who was loved by everyone around him. He lived his life rooted in optimism
and always knew how to make the most of things. Gennady was born on February 23rd, 1938 in
Leningrad (currently known as St. Petersburg), Russia. Growing up during the height of World
War II under Stalins leadership, he was a survivor of the blockade of Leningrad. He married the
love of his life Sophia Lozinskaya on May 24th 1960 and had two beautiful daughters,
Alexandra and Marina. In 1989, Gennady and his family took it upon themselves to leave Russia
and immigrated to the United States. Being a gentleman with many talents, he held a degree in
electrical engineering and music. In his free time, he enjoyed playing upright and electric bass,
accordion, and piano while also being handy and fixing appliances and other electrical things for
himself and others. He died on September 1st, 2023 at his home in Duluth, Georgia at the age of
    85. He is survived by his wife of 63 years Sophia, his daughters Marina and Alexandra, and five
grandchildren Benjamin, Gregory, Eric, Anthony, and Dylan. Gennady made the most of all the
blessings life had to offer while also being incredibly humble. On behalf of all of his family and
friends, we truly thank Gennady Brukhbinder for all the impact he’s made on our lives and we’ll continue to honor his life for as long as we live.
