OBITUARY
Charles Moog, 86, was born on December 17th, 1936 and is a native of Atlanta, Georgia. He graduated Henry Grady High School in 1954 and then attended Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where he was on the golf team, enjoyed working out in the weight room and graduated with a BA from the Sloan School of Management.
He loved driving around Atlanta in his meticulously maintained 1956 Oldsmobile, hanging out with friends at the Varsity, one of whom eventually introduced him to his wife, Zelda. They got married in 1958 at the Ahavath Achim Synagogue in Atlanta, where they were lifelong members. After graduating college, he became a 1st lieutenant in the U.S. Army and relocated to Joliet, Illinois. Moving back to Atlanta, he held a variety of management positions within companies at the forefront of the computer industry. Prior to his retirement, he was the owner of Black Tie Services, a premier event staffing firm in Atlanta. In his spare time, he enjoyed a great round of golf, cheering on the Atlanta Falcons and above all spending time with his family.
Charles will be remembered as a wonderful husband, beloved father and a loving, involved grandfather (Poppy). All who knew Charles appreciated his sweet nature, quick wit, and his warm, caring and genuine personality. He was known for his intelligence, sharp memory and ability to remember any and all phone numbers by heart (not to mention the Torah portion from his Bar Mitzvah).
He is preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Dora Moog, his older sister Marilyn Kaufman and his wife of 63 years, Zelda Moog. He is survived by sister Rosalyn Neusner, his daughters, Michelle Nathan (Lawrence) and Lisa Moog, and his grandchildren Geoffrey and Ruthie Nathan, and Skyler and Noah Neuman.
In lieu of flowers, the family is appreciative of donations made to the The Multiple System Atrophy Coalition (MSA Coalition).
