OBITUARY
Daniel Jules Jacobs was born August 14, 1944 to Morris Jacobs and Julia Boaz Jacobs, of blessed memory. He attended GA Tech, receiving a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, & GA State University, receiving an MBA. Over the years he worked for several different firms in sales & marketing. After working for major companies, he started his own home remodeling business, which he operated for 25 plus years. Dan spent most of his life in Atlanta & retired to the mountains of North Carolina. Prior to retirement & physical disability, he spent his time remodeling people’s homes, building furniture, tinkering with farm machinery, & traveling with Jody to countries near & far. There was not a thing he couldn’t fix!
He is survived by his wife, Jody Sloan, who he loved with all his heart, his four beloved cats (especially Squeaky), brother Gary Jacobs, children Lisa Connolly (John); Michelle Shepherd (Richard); Joshua Jacobs (Tesi) & Rabbi Jessica Jacobs. He is further survived by ten grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Hospital or Laps & Naps Home for Senior Cats, lapsandnaps.org.
The funeral will be held at Crestlawn in Atlanta on Friday, August 4th at 10 am with Rabbi Shuval Weiner officiating. Arrangements by Dressler’s, 770-451-4999

So sorry to hear about the passing of Dan Jacobs. He was literally a member of our family for years, helping us to renovate our tiny and ancient home. He shared his wisdom with us, and often spoke very lovingly of his family. His handiwork is still a part of our home and he will always be remembered so fondly as a kind, genuine, and accomplished person. May his his memory be a blessing.

We were just beginning to know one another when Dan started having health issues, so I will miss the good times we could have had. Jody, Jessica and Josh, our love and thoughts are with you during this difficult time.

The loss of my only brother Dan, is very diificult. Our parents always put us first, and we were so fortunate. Dan excelled at everything and had no difficultly achieving an excellent education. He had the capacity to undertand how something was constructed, and in a short time had it repaired. For many years, I was able to seek Dan's advice on issues that confronted me. Dan leaves many siblings, and I know his loss will not be easy . I thank Jody for the love she put forth for Dan, and am so sorry for her loss. I regret I was unable to attend, but will be watching the service by remote. Gary Jacobs

Ellen & I were so sorry to hear of Danny's issues and now his passing and so sorry that we're so far away living in South Florida that we can't make the funeral. It's a blessing that we can be there virtually. Iike Dan Boaz, (who we called "little Danny")"Big Danny", both named for our grandfather Daniel Boaz, we are all first cousins. While they were in Atlanta, as a child I had to go with my parents who lived in several cities but I eventually came back to Atlanta for school and early adulthood and we all were such great friends during those years. Dan was a giant presence in our family in so many ways. He will be missed. He was close to my sister, Regina who we lost last year. The one special memory I have from our pre-teen years was when I visited The Boaz's during the summer as I did for many years, our Aunt Minnie would take us to the movies. She had to take Dan's birth certificate as he was so tall and she had to prove he could get a child's ticket. Jody, our thoughts are with you and all the Jacobs family. Jessica, welcome to South Florida. You do have relatives here! G-d bless.

May you be comforted among the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem.
Danny and Marcia Boaz
Jody, Lisa, Michelle, Josh, Jessie & Grandchildren - our deepest sympathy to you and your family during this difficult time. Dan and I are 1st cousins as our fathers were brothers-in-laws who shared an Optometric practice in Atlanta for over 50 years. Dan and I spent many hours together during our childhood years sharing many building projects and good times. He was so talented and smart and could repair anything no matter how complicated. His knowledge of automobiles and their hundreds of components was amazing. During the years in his home renovation business, he completed hundreds of beautiful home rehab projects for his many homeowner customers. He will be missed by those who knew him. May his memory always be a blessing to his family and friends. Danny and Marcia Boaz

Dear Jody and family, My heart goes out to each of you. Dan's spirit lives through you, his courage, personality, persistence, and love magnified in his presence will be everlasting. It has been an honor to know Dan and feel his family's support in his journey. I pray for your strength.

We knew Dan from both his remodeling work and through his children who attended the Davis Academy. Dan literally "saved" us as he stepped in and completed a remodeling job that the previous contractor abandoned. He continued to complete renovation projects for us. We were very grateful for the quality of his work and his excellent work ethic. May his memory be a blessing to his family.

Danny Jacobs and I became friends as teenagers playing sports in AZA. When Danny opened his remodeling company, Danny designed and built a 450 sf, 16-ft high clear span sunroom that is an engineering marvel. Janice and I enjoyed interacting with Danny's scintillating personality as a friend and as a building professional. Our close friends Holly and Mal Bricks kept Janice and I informed of Danny and Jody’s journey together and Danny is a blessing to all Who knew him. With our Love, Joe & Janice Nodvin

Dear Jessica, My deepest condolences on the Passing of your beloved dad. After reading his obituary I marveled how multitalented your dad was. I was also touched by his love for his cats. He must have been a loving person full of empathy for all those he came in contact with. All I really know is that you are his daughter which is a great reflection of your dad and the values he instilled in you. Again please convey my deepest condolences to your family on the passing on your special dad. Warmly, Perla
