For over 3 years when I was in high school, Elia Fischer was my chavrusa (Torah learning partner). Although we had no prior relationship, Elia took it upon himself to help out a struggling yeshiva student and we met consistently throughout this time. Never once did he ask anything in return for this favor. One of my fellow yeshiva students one time told me "I thought your chavrusa was your father" because we learned so well together and so regularly. He was a smart and giving person and he will be missed. B"DE.

Elia will be greatly missed. We once spent pesach together as assistant mashgichim in Acapulco. It was a crazy trip and it turned out that we in the end weren't the assistant mashgichim but kind of had to make the decisions on our own. Elia was a wonderful partner and chavruta to make the decisions and learn the sugyot with. We had a limited library and bk of Elia we did not allow ourselves to be intimidated by the guests or the business running the pesach trip. He also taught me how how to juggle to the tune of Joseph and his technicolor coat. ??? ???? ???? and may we through his family and how we live Keep his memory alive!!!
