OBITUARY
Adriane Michele Shapiro, (46) devoted wife of Lee Shapiro, and loving mother of Leah (15) and Reece (12) passed away peacefully at home on May, 20 2023 after a three year courageous battle with a brain tumor.
Born in Marietta, GA she was the daughter of the late Ronald and Diane Leroy. Adriane was a beloved physical therapist for many years, most recently working at WellStar North Fulton. She loved her work and especially her work family who have all been so wonderful to Adriane and the family during her illness. Adriane was always educating herself on how to better treat her patients and over the years has helped hundreds of patients recover so they could return to their home and continue with their lives. Adriane was an avid runner completing 20 Peachtree Road Races and many 5K runs. She enjoyed hiking, biking, planning family trips, camping in the woods and most of all being with her family and friends. Those who knew Adriane were better for it. She brought out the best in those who doubted themselves and was always there to lend a helping hand when in need.
In addition to her husband of 19 years and children, her memory will continue on with her brother, Jason Leroy, Aunt Amy Lutz (Ken), cousins Hannah and Zack Lutz, Uncle Bert Stein, in-laws, Anita and Marvin Shapiro, and many other family members and friends. A special thank you to Ann Marie Brammer, Talitha Dixon and Freda Calhoun who took such wonderful care of Adriane during her illness.
A graveside service will be Monday, May 22, 2023 at 3:00 pm at Arlington Memorial Park with Rabbi Michael Bernstein officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The American Brain Tumor Association https://give.abta.org/give/261975/#!/donation/checkout

My condolences and continued prayers for Adriane’s family. I had the privilege to work with Adriane several years ago at NF. She was always a joy to be around, cared deeply for her patients, and could light up a room with her beautiful smile and disposition. God bless you all.
