OBITUARY
Linda Marie Segal (Nee Fritts)On April 26, 1947, Linda was born to loving parents, Joe and Edith Fritts. 22 months later, she was joined by sister, Judy; 7 years later, brother Joe. She had a happy childhood filled with dolls, books, bikes, and lots of love. She grew up to be a beauty. Smart, generous, charismatic. She graduated from Martin County High School in Stuart,Fl in 1965 where she was active in school activities and served on the Homecoming Queen's court. She completed her Associate degree in Nursing in 1967 at Indian River Community College in Ft. Pierce, Fl; her Bachelor degree in Sociology from Barry College in Miami,FL in 1970. She received her Nurse Midwifery Degree from the University of Mississippi (Jackson)in 1976, and her Masters Degree in Nurse Midwifery from in Philadelphia, PA. Her storied midwife career touched the lives of thousands of babies and their parents. Not only was she "Nurse Midwife Extraordinaire", she was the proud and loving wife of Elliott Segal; proud and loving mother to Kelen, Jesse, Laura, and Allison; and grandma to Grace, Christian, Alexandra, Jesicah, River, Lyric, Aidan, Julia, Dylan, Emily and June. She loved music, going to the beach, (St. Simon's, Outer Banks, and Hutchinson Island, FL among her favorites), playing the piano, knitting, gardening, studying Judaism, traveling, and most of all she and Elliott's amazing motorcycle rides to some of the most breathtaking scenery in our country. Gentle hands, gentle heart, gentle spirit. That is our Linda. We will mourn her passing and profoundly miss her

I am so sorry for your loss and praying for Elliot and Linda’s children. I just found out from ultrasound tech Stacy earlier today that Linda was buried this week. I am in shock; I was trying to get in touch with her last week. She forever has a place in my heart as my little ones and myself were both cared for her before and after birth. I don’t understand.
