  Bernard Kroll

  February 10, 1935 - February 20, 2023

  Our family and friends will miss the good humor and warm company of Bernard Kroll, a distinguished businessman and beloved member of the Atlanta community, who passed away on February 20, 2023, at the age of 88.

  Bernard was born in Brooklyn, New York on February 10, 1935, to Harry and Kitty Kroll.

  He attended Georgia Tech, where he was an active participant in ROTC and served in the Army Corps of Engineers. He graduated from Georgia Tech in 1957 and went on to have a successful career in commercial construction.

  Bernard’s professional achievements included serving as President of Holder Construction and later as CEO of Kroll Construction. He was also a proud alumnus of Georgia Tech and served as President of the Georgia Tech Alumni Association. Bernard was an active member of the Atlanta community, serving as President of The Standard Club.

  Outside of work, Bernard had a passion for golf, although he would often joke that he was not a great golfer. He also enjoyed indulging in single malt scotch and Cuban cigars with friends and family. On any Saturday night he could be found having a cigar out on his back porch holding court with his grandchildren.

  In 1978, Bernard married the love of his life, Suzanne Stella Kroll, and together they enjoyed a life filled with love and adventure, traveling extensively throughout the world.

  He was a devoted father to his three children, Julie Kroll, Scott Kroll, and Keith Kroll, a caring stepfather to Robin Inglis and Jason Inglis, and a loving grandfather to 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

  Bernard Kroll’s kindness, generosity, and passion for life will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and the countless individuals whose lives he touched. His legacy will continue to inspire and impact the lives of those who knew him.

  A Visitation will be held Monday, February 27, 2023, from 1:30 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Southeast followed by the Funeral Service at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel.
