    With profound sadness we announce the passing of Mr. Michael Scott Edelkind, age 71, of Snellville, Georgia. He will always be remembered for his gentle smile, his love of family, his kindness to children, and his favorite pastime, reading.

    Michael is remembered and missed by his children, his sons Daryl Scott Edelkind and Daniel Matthew Edelkind and daughter Lori Edelkind, and daughter in law Jennifer Edelkind. He also leaves behind his grandchildren:  Gregory, Cara, Tobias, Harmon,  Mary, and Selene, and his great grandson Harrison. He leaves behind his beloved dogs Snoopy and Snowball.

    Michael is also survived by his Uncle Barney Edelkind, his brothers Myron, Steven, Alan, Shane, and Jamie, and his sisters Rena, Tamar, and Amy. 

    He is predeceased by the parents he adored Mary and Murray Aaron Edelkind, his baby brother Daniel, and his older sister Michele.

    A funeral service will be held at Crest Lawn Memorial Park 2000 Marietta Blvd NW, Atlanta, Georgia on Tuesday, July 5th at 3:00PM.

    In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Jewish Family and Career Services in his name.

    Our dad was a great dad. He loved his family fiercely. He loved his children more than anyone. He was a prolific reader, a mechanic, and a Jack of all trades. He will be missed, and is now with his mom and dad whom he adored and cherished everyday they were gone. We shared many cups of coffee together.
