OBITUARY
Rosalind Lichter Baranovitz passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, from natural causes after a long, wonderful life.
Rosalind was born in St. Augustine, Florida to Lena and Benjamin Lichter. The family soon relocated to Brooklyn where her father prospered with a shoe factory. When she was 12 years old, the family moved back to St. Augustine to be closer to family. Rosalind graduated from Ketterlinus High School and then attended Florida State University. As a young adult, she moved to Atlanta and met her future husband, Jack. They were married in 1955 in St. Augustine and raised three children in Atlanta. They were married for 60 years until Jack's passing in 2016.
Rosalind is survived by her children Donald (Joy) Baranovitz, Neil (Sally) Baranovitz, Helen (George) Steinheimer, grandchildren Harris (Bridgette Jordan) Baranovitz, Sydney (Scott) Garfinkel, Benjamin (Megan) Steinheimer, Lauren Steinheimer, and two great-grandchildren, Noah Steinheimer and Milly Garfinkel.
The funeral will be held on Friday, June 10, 2022, at 2:00 pm at Greenwood Cemetery, with Rabbi Laurence Rosenthal and Rabbi Mark Zimmerman officiating. Shiva will be held on Sunday, June 12 from 4-8 PM at the home of Joy and Donald Baranovitz.
