Dear Spizman family. I grew up with Willy in San Antonio. I remember him first because we were in a small close-knit community with several survivors, including his parents. Ivan and his family were also part of that community. Then my fondest memory of him was watching him play football in front of Aunt Roselle's house with the Herzel and Marcus AZA boys. We both went to UT and I married a fellow AEPi guy. I was never close with Willy but it was always nice hanging out in the same groups of friends. I am so saddened by his loss. May his life be a blessing to all of you. Judi Diamond Saltzman

Ali and Justin, Thank you for sharing your dad with my mom (Bettye), and her children. Mr. Willy was the absolute best. He would always call mom and ask "are we feeding the homeless today'? Mr. Willy was an inspiration to so many people, he had a big heart and LOVED, LOVED, LOVED his family. He is definitely going to be missed. I'm sure mom is going to miss her calls and lunches with Mr. Willy. Rest well Mr. Willy Love you forever!!

An old friend
Hope you find your old LeMans in Heaven’s parking lot, get in, put your right hand on that Hurst shifter, gun the engine, pop the clutch and make a real entrance into Heaven; God won’t mind the noise, and there will be plenty of old friends and family to welcome you; You will be missed!

Irving Willy Spizman, 69, died on April 25. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Justin and Jaime Spizman, daughter and son-in-law, Ali and Marc Garfinkel; grandchildren, Dani Spizman (9), Bella Spizman (7) and Poppy Garfinkel (2); brother and sister-in-law, Sam and Gena Spizman; parents, Regina and Gus Spizman, of blessed memory.
Willy had a love for three things: his family, the Texas Longhorns and a good cycle ride on the belt line. Born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, Willy loved sports and was active in his AZA chapter. He made his way to the University of Texas where he was President of Alpha Epsilon Pi and played baseball. After college he moved to Atlanta where he built a career in public relations. He spent afternoons and weekends at his children’s sports games cheering and yelling from the stands. He ran the Peachtree Road Race for 40 consecutive years.
Willy was extremely kind, loyal and dedicated to his family and friends. He always said yes to any favor asked and was the first to volunteer to help. He was greatly loved and will be missed.
