OBITUARY
Ben Arogeti of Atlanta, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at the age of 89. After several years of declining health, Ben died peacefully in his sleep surrounded by love and his family.
Ben was born in Atlanta, Georgia on April 5, 1932, to father Morris Arogeti and mother Bolie Arogeti. He was born between his two brothers, Joe and Sam, who preceded him in death. From a young age he was a hard worker with his first job washing dishes in his father’s deli. He later joined the Air Force at age 19. He was stationed in various states around the U.S. as a radar specialist during the Korean War.
After Ben had served his time in the Air Force, he returned to Atlanta and began working at Rich’s (now known as Macy’s) shoe department as a senior sales manager for 38 years. During those years he met his wife Betty Dudman and got married in 1973. Later in 1973 his first and only son, Mitchell was born. He spent the next few decades of his life with Betty and Mitchell and then eventually he welcomed Mitchell’s wife Debbie into the family. Soon after he had three beautiful grandchildren, Jordan, Bradley, and Lucy, whom he loved immensely.
At his core, Ben was a gentle, yet strong-willed man who cared deeply for his family and those around him. To know him, was to love him, and he was loved by all. He will be missed by his wife, son, daughter-in-law, grandchildren, and everyone who got the pleasure to know him.
Ben Arogeti’s funeral will be held at Greenwood Cemetery on March 18, 2022, at 10 a.m. Following the service join us for a Shiva lunch at his son, Mitchell Arogeti’s house.

Dear Betty and Mitchell and all of Ben's most chereished loved ones, Mitchell's words today celebrating Ben's life were poignant, uplifting, and wonderfully celebrated the life - and life experiences - of a truly kind man. Mitchell's words gave us all some things to rethink about all the people in our lives. I hope you remember well how much Ben loved each of you and how lucky you still are to have him with and inside you. Cousin Betty, you have been and remain an angel on Earth in countless ways. Know we have you in our hearts especially. Sending love and this small reminder that Ben will be remembered as a loving, kind and modest good man by anyone lucky to have met him.
