May the memories of our loved ones remain for a blessing.

When I moved here in 1977 from Cleveland Ohio Harry Baron's Delicatessen at Phipps Plaza was the place to go on Saturday and Sunday mornings for breakfast, lunch, and brunch. It was always packed and he made you feel welcome. Best corn beef, lox, bagel, and anything else in Atlanta. We all would head out from our apartments on Buford Highway and meet there. There's never been one like it since. My condolences to the family.

Robbie, just saw that Dad passed away while looking up another obituary. I am so sorry for y’all’s loss. Harry (and your Mom) was such a wonderful man. I have such fond memories of him when I was a kid and throughout my life. He was a true blessing to all that were privileged to know him. I hope that you and the family are well and look forward to seeing you soon at the club.

Harry was definitely a "Legend in his own Time". Many years ago, one of my first Part Time Jobs was at Harry Barron's Deli located at, the newly constructed, Phipps Plaza. Harry was everybody's friend and he "Never met a Stranger". We were all brothers & sisters, and he seated many customers next to his "infamous Brother or Sister". Harry (z"l) will always be in our memory. Helen & David Diamond

Shalom Robbie and each member of Harry's Family, Yes, Harry was a winner in his attitude, his upbeat persona and then as a Restauranteur. I know, and recall all to well how he out coached me as the coach of the J A O team in basketball. Little did I realize his deep background in the game, and that he was 15 years my senior, ,though having as much energy as anyone in the gym that day. He shared that energy to 'fire up' his team of AZA # 134 (I believe was the #) Peace, Raymond

Dear Robbie and Nancy, We are so saddened to hear of the loss of your beloved father. We both loved Harry! He always had a kind word and was never at a loss for words. Such a kind and gentle soul. A true Mensch! Sid got such a kick out of playing doubles with Harry at North Fulton and Harry got a huge kick out of it too when they beat his friends! They had a great time. What a great man and a beautiful, long life. I remember he told Claire at her funeral, “I will see you soon.” They are together again. With love, Michele and Sid

I was deeply saddened to hear about Harry's passing. I know how difficult this must be for you. May your memories bring you comfort. My earliest memories go back to NE Atl when Harry had the Deli at the corner of LaVista & Briarcliff. If we weren't eating there every Sunday after Sunday School, we were STILL eating all the same foods provided by Harry Baron's Deli at home. Especially when someone passed & Harry ALWAYS provided deli trays to the family for all the friends & family that would come over to pay their respects. His outragious generosity will NEVER be forgotten. He was definitely a "Mensch"! The Good Lord just didn't make them any better! Our Sympathies & Condolences are with you & your Entire Family. Our Prayers are with you.

My deepest heartfelt condolences to his family. I had the honor of becoming friends with Harry the last 6 years and enjoyed his stories of meeting Claire, the restaurant, and his sales job. He made herring for me and my mom many times-the best we ever had! We were so lucky to have him as a guest in my home for dinners and he made us laugh. He reminded me so much of my grandfather, also named Harry, whom I loved dearly. Harry told me many times how much he valued my friendship but I was the one blessed to have met him. I will miss him dearly but am happy to know he is back dancing with his beloved wife.

I met Harry when he and my son Michael became "friends" about 3 years ago. We had the pleasure of seeing him for some holidays at my son's house, and he knew I liked herring, and came with a jar of home made herring each time we saw him. Michael loved him like a grandfather and the rest of our family loved him too. May his memory be for blessing.

Robbie, Nancy, Louis, Amy and kids, What a man and what a life! Harry was Edward's basketball coach at the AJCC and always said "youse guys can play better". We probably couldn't but Harry never gave up on us. When we first married, Harry delivered seltzer to our cross the hall neighbor at the Buford Valley Apts. Then for many years we enjoyed the deli at Phipps. The food was terrific and Harry's show was even better. At family events through the years we always loved reminiscing with Harry. He was a larger than life guy and we and the Atlanta Jewish community were lucky to have him here. Condolences to all of you but know that Harry will continue to live on in many wonderful memories. Sending love to all!

Two lasting memories of Harry. One, being seated next to his "cousin" from Indianapolis or Cincinnati or Philadelphia at the Phipps deli and, much more recently, seeing him traveling in his wheelchair out to a tennis court at Sandy Springs to stand up near the net, still playing his beloved tennis, and then holding court upstairs in the reception area.

My memories of Harry go as far back to my childhood as I can remember. We had deliveries of glass seltzer bottles and chocolate syrup. Later, I remember the days of his delicatessen. He has always been a legend and a big part of Atlanta’s history. May his memory be a source of joy to his family and friends.

What a treasure Harry was to Atlanta. We were not Atlanta natives; the first time we went into the restaurant, he told us to take a seat by "his cousins." Little did we know that was his endearing "shtick." The consummate host. We are so sorry for your loss.

We were deeply hurt to hear of Harry's passing on Sunday. Sherry and I saw Harry one night at Hearth Restaurant in Sandy Springs and had a great talk about the old days even before the "Deli years", when Harry had Atlanta Seltzer Co. When we were teens (I'm 80 now), my old buddy Barry Igar who passed yeasr ago, used to drive the truck for Harry and make deliveries during the day, and then Lloyd Mendelson, Larry Taylor, Murray Siegel and I used to be passengers in the truck at night, unbeknownst to Harry, because the truck was the only transportation any of us had. I know that Harry must have known it but he never said a word. I loved Harry and Claire and have many great memories of both of them which will endure. Our deepest sympathy to the whole family on the loss of great guy and an old friend.

Dear Robbie and Nancy, I am so very sorry for your loss. He was such a great man! I know it will be such a loss for your family. I have to say and the city, as his infamous deli is truly part of the history of Atlanta. Sending healing wishes, Lauri

We are so saddened to hear about Harry. What a character! He’s been a part of Atlanta’s history for so long. You have so many wonderful memories and stories. We were happy to know Harry Baron, a real mensch. May his name be for a blessing.
